About
This is a space to share something I hold deeply dear — the quiet joy of nature-inspired, human-made, one-of-a-kind pieces.
There’s something about natural materials that speaks without words. You feel it instinctively — that urge to reach out, to touch, to connect. In that sense, an online shop feels a little ironic… but perhaps that’s exactly why these pieces matter. If something catches your eye here, it’s meant to be experienced fully — held, felt, lived with.
The most honest place to begin this journey is with where I come from.
I grew up in a family of makers. My father, a sculptor. My mother, endlessly skilled in textiles and the shaping of spaces. Between the four of us siblings, there’s a shared ability to turn almost any material into something meaningful — something beautiful, something functional. It’s a gift rooted in the home we were raised in.
We were always building, making, transforming. Homes were renovated, spaces reimagined, and there was never a shortage of tools — sewing machines humming, pottery wheels spinning, woodwork benches waiting to be explored. We learnt by doing, by watching, by creating alongside one another.
Only later did I realise how rare and valuable that kind of upbringing is — to be surrounded by creativity, and to see it as part of everyday life.
This showroom is an extension of that world. It’s still evolving, slowly taking shape over time. And as it grows, you’ll begin to meet more of my family here — and experience the beauty they continue to create and share with the world.
LAG are my initials, and at the same time, they mean laughter in Afrikaans — a coincidence that feels anything but accidental. It speaks to something essential in the pieces I create and curate here: that beauty doesn’t need to be serious to be meaningful. That spaces, like the objects within them, should carry a sense of warmth and life. A quiet invitation to feel at ease, to connect, and to find small moments of joy in the everyday.
